Photo Flash: Meet the Cast of THE ICEMAN COMETH at TampaRep

Tampa Repertory Theatre will produce Eugene O'Neill's landmark American drama THE ICEMAN COMETH at Studio 120 on the University of South Florida campus from June 16 to July 3. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the cast in character below!

So challenging is THE ICEMAN COMETH that the producers of the most recent Broadway-bound revival got cold feet and canceled the Broadway run in favor of a short stint in Brooklyn, despite the fact that the production had set attendance records in its Chicago tryout and starred certified box office draws Nathan Lane and Brian Dennehy.

Set in a tavern and flophouse in New York City's then-grubby Greenwich Village in 1912, THE ICEMAN COMETH studies a collection of broken, lost men and women, and the salesman who arrives with a perverse pitch to save each of them from themselves. It's a story of hope and regret, of how the lies people tell themselves both sustain and destroy them.

The large TampaRep cast features some of Tampa's finest actors, including Ned Averill-Snell (TampaRep's Betrayal, Jobsite Theater's Lebensraum), Michael Mahoney (Proof at Gypsy Stage Repertory), Jack Holloway (TampaRep's Hamlet and True West), Erin Foster (the recent TampaRep/Stageworks coproduction of Inherit the Wind), Jordan Foote (American Stage's One Slight Hitch), Josh Goff (American Stage's Jitney), young Nick Hoop (Jobsite's Silence: The Musical) in the lynchpin role of Don Parritt, and many more.

Following TampaRep's popular and critically acclaimed productions of The Children's Hour, True West and Silent Sky, THE ICEMAN COMETH concludes a successful fifth season for TampaRep, advancing the company from newcomer to one of the area's most well- established, solid producers of rewarding stage experiences.

Performances are at 7:00 PM on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 3:00 PM on Sundays. Studio 120 is located at 3837 USF Holly Drive, Tampa 33620, where ample free parking is available during performances.
