American Stage Theatre Company continues its first full season in the Raymond James Theatre with Alfred Uhry's new classic, DRIVING MISS DAISY, running March 10 thru Apr. 18.

Winner of the 1988 Pulitzer Prize, DRIVING MISS DAISY tells the post-World War II story of a rich, sharp-tongued Jewish widow who meets her new black chauffeur. Over a series of absorbing scenes spanning 25 years, the two grow to have one of theatre's most unlikely friendships. This new classic is filled with wit and wisdom, and explores the importance of tolerance and love.

Directed by T. Scott Wooten (TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE), DRIVING MISS DAISY stars Bob Devin Jones (UNCLE BEND'S HOMECOOKED NEGRO NARRATIVE), Ann Morrison (THE NEW CENTURY) and Steve Garland (CORONADO).

"DRIVING MISS DAISY is the most requested play by our patrons," said Todd Olson, American Stage's producing artistic director. "We are so excited to bring this must see new classic to Tampa Bay audiences."
