Michael Orland to be 2012 Broadway Theatre Project Guest Artist

Michael Orland, composer, is set to be the 2012 guest artist at Ben Vereen's Broadway Theatre Project this summer.

Michael Orland is an accomplished composer, musical director, arranger, musician and vocal coach based in Los Angeles working in television, theatre and the club scene. For the past eight years, Michael has been musical director for The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, which plays annually in New York and throughout the US. He has collaborated with music legends such as Elton John, Quincy Jones, Tony Bennett, Burt Bacharach, Neil Sedaka, and Diana Ross, and has made numerous television appearances including Oprah, The Today Show, and Ellen.

Broadway Theatre Project (BTP), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization celebrating its 21th anniversary in 2011, is the renowned musical theatre intensive that provides its apprentices with critical training in the disciplines of acting, dancing and singing, taught by a faculty of accomplished educators and performers. As part of its mission, the program strives to engender students with the personal skills necessary to work and survive in the professional world of performing arts. Sessions are held annually every July in Tampa on the beautiful campus of the University of South Florida.

Tony-Award-winning actor, singer and dancer Ben Vereen is the Artistic Director of the Broadway Theatre Project for 2012. Ben was just selected to be included in the Theatre Hall of Fame.
