The popular hit musical GUYS AND DOLLS opens at the Manatee Players on February 17 and plays through March 6. Performances are Tuesday - Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25 including facility fee for adults and $11 including facility fee for students. Tickets may be reserved by calling 748-5875 Monday - Friday from 9-5 and one hour before curtain on performance days or on the Manatee Players' website: www.manateeplayers.com. All performances are at 102 Old Main Street in downtown Bradenton.

This oddball romantic comedy with book by Abe Burrows and Jo Swerling and music and lyrics by Frank Loesser is considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy, featuring songs like: "Luck Be a Lady", "I'll Know", "Sit Down You're Rockin' The Boat" and "A Bushel And A Peck". Winner of 9 Tony awards, including Best Musical and Best Revival of a Musical and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, GUYS & DOLLS is set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City. The show soars with the spirit of Broadway as it introduces us to a cast of vivid characters who have become legends in the canon: Sarah Brown, the upright but uptight "mission doll," out to reform the evildoers of Times Square; Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love; Adelaide, the chronically ill nightclub performer whose condition is brought on by the fact she's been engaged to the same man for 14 years; and Nathan Detroit, her devoted fiancé, desperate as always to find a spot for his infamous floating crap game.

This delightful romp is led by Marc Lalosh as Sky Masterson, John Andruzzi as Nathan Detroit, Joe Kane as Benny Southstreet, Jessica Morrow as Sarah Brown, Helen Holiday as Miss Adelaide and Mike Nolan as Nicely-Nicely Johnson. Others in the cast include Daniel Mills, Tim Parker, Stu Gold, Steven Pustai, Michael McNabb, Phillip Morehouse, Bryan Boytek, Jr., Juan Martinez, Brittney Klepper, Victoria Tokarz, Nancy Brining, Caitlin Paylor, Mary Deame, Jennifer Deame, Tory Beam, Victoria Najmy, Holly Rizzo, Delanie Wallace, Anna Nicosia and Alina Evans.

The show is being directed and choreographed by JaRed Walker with Thomas Guthrie as Musical Director.
