Manatee Performing Arts Center to Host Evening of One-Act Plays, 8/23-24

An evening of short one-act plays is coming to the Manatee Performing Arts Center.

Performances are August 23 & 24 at 8 p.m. Tickets are only $15 and may be purchased by calling 941-748-5875 Monday - Friday from 9-5 and one hour before curtain on performance days or on the Manatee Players' website: www.manateeplayers.com. Seating is festival style on a first come, first serve basis. All performances are at the Manatee Performing Arts Center at 502 3rd Avenue West in downtown Bradenton.

Director Russ Carthy has assembled casts for six short one act plays to be presented as the first public event in the new Kiwanis Club of Bradenton Studio Theater. The plays, THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT, WALTER, THE GREATEST ROLE, WALLGREENS and GPS LADY feature the talents of Caroline Cox, Dan Coppinger, Alice Cotman, Amy Dop, Jay Poppe, Bob Weintraub, Laura Morales, Philip Croome, Miriam Ring, Jo Kendall, Fatima Paula and JuLiAna Ortiz. Dessert and coffee will be served at intermission.

The Manatee Players is an award-winning non-profit community theater located in downtown Bradenton, Florida. Their mission is to represent, enrich and promote diverse artists and art forms. The Manatee Players, Inc. and its performance venue, Manatee Performing Arts Center, serve as a significant cultural, educational and economic resource for the Florida Gulf Coast region.
