LOVE, SEX AND THE IRS Opens at St. Petersburg Little Theatre, 3/18

St. Petersburg Little Theatre is bringing back the 1970's with their production of Love, Sex and the IRS. Directed by Kathy Richter, the show runs March 18 through April 3.

"The swinging 70's, weren't they simpler times; unless of course you happen to be stretching the truth a little with the taxman. Out of work musicians and roommates Jon and Leslie have been filing income tax returns as a married couple to save money. It works fine until an IRS agent shows up to audit them. Enter Jon's fiancée who teaches Leslie a few tricks about being the woman of the house. Which as you might imagine gets a bit confusing when Jon's mother drops by to meet that woman. It all adds up to hilarity and slapstick in this sidesplitting comedy creation of playwriting partners Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore. Van Zandt and Milmore wrote the comedy to pass the time backstage during the filming of the first "Star Trek" movie, in which Van Zandt played an alien boy. They used some of the physical humor Van Zandt loved from "I Love Lucy." The production has played over 10,000 shows in 8 counties and is just the occasion to get your tax season moving."
