freeFall Artistic Director Eric Davis directs the Tampa Bay premiere of Topher Payne's Perfect Arrangement. Perfect Arrangement stars Rob Glauz (Tom in freeFall's The Glass Menagerie), Megan Therese Rippey (Marie in freeFall's Marie Antoinette) and Patrick Ryan Sullivan (El Gallo in freeFall's The Fantasticks). The cast also features Michael David (freeFall's The Glass Menagerie), Nichole Hamilton (freeFall's The Vibrator Play), Donna DeLonay (freeFall's Into The Woods) and Jessie Taylor (freeFall debut).
The set and lighting is designed by Tom Hansen of Gary Musick Productions with costumes designed by Theatre Tampa Bay Award Winner Frank Chavez.
"Perfect Arrangement is funny. fast-paced and deeply moving all at the same time" says Marketing Director Matthew McGee. "Audiences will be talking about this look at the early days of the LGBT rights movement long after the curtain comes down."
It's 1950, and new colors are being added to the Red Scare. Two U.S. State Department employees, Bob and Norma, have been tasked with identifying sexual deviants within their ranks. There's just one problem: Both Bob and Norma are gay, and have married each other's partners as a carefully constructed cover. Inspired by the true story of the earliest stirrings of the American gay rights movement, classic sitcom-style laughs give way to provocative drama as two "All-American" couples are forced to stare down the closet door.
