Community Band, Chorus & Broadway Kids Play A Concert At Carrollwood 5/30

The Carrollwood Cultural Center is proud to present its COMMUNITY BAND, COMMUNITY CHORUS and BROADWAY KIDS in concert SATURDAY, MAY 30 at 3pm

The Carrollwood Cultural Center Community Band will play excerpts from musicals by Frederick Loewe and George Gershwin, as well as some oldie goldie big band arrangements with a little touch of the Classics!

The Band is directed by Helen Michaelson.
The Community Chorus will present a kaleidoscope of American music from the folk idiom through Broadway. The repertoire will include songs from Gershwin, Kearns and spiritual.
The Broadway Kids will present several excerpts from studio work in progress: Guys and Dolls, Barnum, The Secret Garden and Oliver. The Chorus and the Broadway Kids are directed by Mary Ann Scialdo.

The Broadway Kids will join the Carrollwood Cultural Center Community Band and Chorus to produce the musical Oliver, the Carrollwood Cultural Center premiere community theatre production, coming this summer.

The mission of the Center is to offer cultural programs, services and events that encourage individual exploration and promotes a sense of community.

The Center participates with several Florida interest groups to promote the arts and its influences throughout the community. These groups offer intergenerational programs as well as initiatives that address particular individual needs and encompass graphic and performing arts, continuing education, and community outreach programs.
