Opening October 19 in The Studio on the property of Carrollwood Cultural Center, get ready to see what the nuns do when not in the convent. Produced by MAS Community Theatre, NUNSENSE opens as the first show to the start a new studio series.

The musical opens with the untimely deaths of many nuns at the convent. They unknowingly ate a lethal batch of vichyssoise prepared by their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God. All but four victims have been properly buried. Unfortunately, Mother Superior spent some of the burial money on cell phones for the surviving sisters and an iPad for the convent. The four unlucky souls are stuck in the freezer awaiting the proceeds of a variety show fundraiser in the works to afford to inter their bodies. Of course, the health inspector is due for a visit very soon....

Directed by Aaron Washington, choreographed by Julie Nelson, and musically Directed by Mary Jo Hahn, NUNSENSE features Mary Jo Hahn as Rev. Mother, Pavonne Scott as Sister Mary Hubert. Erin Ruska as Sister Robert Anne, Jessica LaPollo as Sister Mary Amnesia, Ashley Ryan Lord as Sister Mary Leo.

"Nunsense is a non-stop laugh fest with audience participation. Beautiful harmonies and gorgeous singing," said director Aaron Washington. "Each performer is a veteran to the MAS stage and stages from the area."

This production also kicks off MAS' endeavor to produce eight of Dan Goggins' NUNSENSE installments over the course of 5 years.

"Some of the highlights include a tap routine that will knock your socks off, a cooking segment that rivals the food network and much more. Get ready to laugh and see what some nuns do when not in the convent," said Aaron. "From the opening number "Nunsense is Habit- Forming" to the closing number "Holier than Thou" - you do not have to be Catholic to have a great time with these nuns."

NUNSENSE runs October 19 - 22 at The Studio at Carrollwood Cultural Center, 13345 Casey Rd, Tampa, FL 33618. Performances are October 19 at 8 pm, Sat., October 21 at 8 pm, and Sun., October 22 at 2 pm. Friday's performance is already sold out. Cash bar all shows, excluding Sunday.
