Asolo Rep is currently seeking applicants for its annual high school Arts Journalism program.

Helmed by Asolo Rep and Sarasota Herald-Tribune Theater and Television Critic Jay Handelman, this special program offers direct access to theatre artists in multiple roles, the opportunity to write about theatre, tickets to a variety of performances, and invaluable pre-professional experience for a select group of high school students.

Asolo Rep seeks students in grades 9-12 who will bring curiosity and an appetite for analysis to each workshop session; in return Asolo Rep provides a rigorous immersion into the artistry at Asolo Rep and the world of arts reporting.

This opportunity is ideally suited for writers who want to develop clear and compelling communication for a specific audience, for theatre fans who want to see professional artistic work up-close-and-personal, and from multiple points of view, and for students who are interested in asking questions and reflecting thoughtfully about what they learn.

Programs sessions run January-April 2016 at various meeting spaces at Asolo Repertory Theatre and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

Submission deadline is December 15, 2015.

For questions, email Education@asolo.org or call 941.351.9010 ext. 3307.
