This August, the Pavilion Performing Arts Centre Sutherland will present the Edinburgh Fringe Winning performance, Tubular Bells for Two.
A multi-award winner at the Adelaide Fringe and Sydney Fridge Festivals, Tubular Bells For Two returns to the stage for one final tour in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Mike Oldfield’s seminal work. Described as “mesmerising” by The Sydney Morning Herald and “truly virtuosic” by Broadway Baby, the spellbinding performance will feature two blokes juggling over 20 instruments live on stage including an electric guitar, piano, and a tin whistle.
Oldfield’s 1973 album is a staple of the progressive rock genre. After appearing on cult-classic film The Exorcist, Tubular Bells went on to sell over 40 million copies, kickstarting Richard Branson’s fledgling record label, Virgin Records. This adaptation, spearheaded by multi-instrumentalists Daniel Holdsworth & Tom Bamford, has toured across the US, Europe, New Zealand, and Australia to sold-out audiences for the past 13 years.
