The Metropolitan Orchestra make a triumphant post Covid lockdown return to the stage for their first ever performance at Parramattas Riverside Theatre. The Classical Blockbusters concert will celebrate the resumption of live music to the stage after a long period of silence caused by the extended Covid lockdowns in Sydney.This exciting Gala event will present an accessible mix of famous and much-loved classical works including musical highlights from major movies.The program will include famous pieces by composer John Williams as featured in movies Superman and Raiders of the Lost Ark, Elgars famous Nimrod from Enigma Variations which featured in the movie Dunkirk, plus Brahms famous Hungarian Dances, Bizets adored Carmen Suite, and selected movements from Tchaikovskys legendary Nutcracker Suite. The concert will also spotlight two sparkling soloist works including Sarasates flashy Ziguenerweisen for violin, and Mozarts beautiful second movement from his renowned Clarinet Concerto, all backed by a full orchestra.The performance is presented in partnership with Riverside Theatre and supported by the Inner West Council and the NSW Government through Create NSW.Conductor:Sarah-Grace WilliamsSoloists:Victoria Jacono-Gilmovich (Violin)Andrew Doyle (Clarinet)
