With a history of over 50 years, the prestigious China National Opera & Dance Theatre's renowned 43-piece orchestra Chinese Music Orchestra has created a large number of popular opera and dance dramas. The Orchestra is led by renowned conductor Xia Hong using a combination of western and eastern instruments including the sheng, an ancient flute, the liuqin mandolin, and the gaohu and erhu, sometimes referred to as "the Chinese fiddle."

A truly transcendent experience that merges ancient and modern art forms, Treasures of the Nation will showcase China's diverse musical heritage and introduce audiences to a new world of music, stunning visuals and virtuosity. The Orchestra has taken part in national and international instrumental music competitions and won many prizes and has performed in India, South Africa and Canada.
