Tickets to FIDDLER ON THE ROOF in Melbourne with Anthony Warlow on Sale Monday

Just in time for Christmas, all tickets to the upcoming Melbourne season of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF starring Anthony Warlow will be released with presales commencing today and general public tickets available on Monday at 9am. This brand new production of one of the world's greatest musicals, opens at Melbourne's Princess Theatre on December 29th with tickets now available until the final performance 27th February 2016.

With no further extension possible, this is the final opportunity to purchase tickets and secure the best seats available for the ultimate gift for loved ones this Christmas. The production will also play a strictly limited engagement in Sydney at the Capitol Theatre from March 24th 2016.

The most celebrated name in Australian musical theatre, Anthony Warlow, comes home from Broadway to perform his bucket list role of Tevye. Anthony has spent the last three years treading the boards on Broadway playing Daddy Warbucks in Annie and most recently replacing Kelsey Grammar as Captain Hook in Finding Neverland. He'll tread the boards alongside Australian stage and screen star, Sigrid Thornton, ARIA award winning musician Lior, funny-man Mark Mitchell and acclaimed actress Nicki Wendt.

Playing Tevye's five daughters are Teagan Wouters (Dirty Dancing) as Tzeitel, Monica Swayne (Wicked) as Hoddel, Jessica Vickers (NIDA) as Chava and making their professional adult musical theatre debuts are Madeline Perrone and Sara Reed as Sprintze and Bielke. Perchik will be played by Blake Bowden (Blood Brothers), Avram by Andrew Kroenert (City of Angels), Pendel by Andrew Pepe (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) and Fyedeka by Jensen Overend (Nice Work if You Can Get It). The role of Fruma-Sarah will be played by Sara Grenfell (Sunset Boulevard) while the Rabbi will be played by Derek Taylor. Completing the cast in the ensemble are Prue Bell, Jared Bryan, Zoe Coppenger, Zack Curran, Mark Doggett, Matt Douglass Brett Fisher, David Hammond, Glen Hogstrom, Jennifer Peers, Matthew Predney, Annie Stanford, Darren Tyler and David Whitney.

For millions of people across the globe of widely differing cultures, ages and groups, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, has touched audiences with its humour, warmth and honesty.

Set in a small Jewish village on the eve of the Russian Revolution, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF tells the story of an impoverished milkman and his family's journey that sees his traditional life turned upside down as the modern world starts to make an impact in their idyllic village.

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF's celebrated score by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, features songs loved the world over, Tradition, Sunrise Sunset, Matchmaker, To Life and of course, If I Were A Rich Man.

Produced by Tim Lawson for The Works Entertainment, (The Illusionists, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, A Chorus Line) this new Australian production of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is directed by the acclaimed Roger Hodgman (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), musically directed by Kellie Dickerson (WICKED) and boasts the award winning choreography by Jerome Robbins (West Side Story) under the watchful eye of Resident Choreographer, Dana Jolly (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels). Completing the creative team is Set Designer, Richard Roberts; Light Designer, Paul Jackson and Sound Designer, Michael Waters.
