Apart of Riverside's 2013 True West Theatre Season, The Violent Outburst That Drew Me To You comes to Riverside Theatres from Thursday 21 till Saturday 30 November 2013.

Sixteen year old Connor is angry. He doesn't know why, and he doesn't know where to direct it. People and things he once liked annoy him, and they itch, like sores. So Connor isolates himself in the middle of the country. Soon he discovers that anger is hiding away with him. Connor knows he will be angry forever. Then a girl walks into the woods. And it turns out she is angry too...

As unpredictable as Connor himself, The Violent Outburst That Drew Me To You tackles the ticking time bomb of teenagerdom. Behind its sly and smart-arsed exterior is a searching exploration of adolescent anger, bound to strike a dissonant chord with anyone who's ever caught a whiff of teen spirit.

The inaugural recipient of a Sydney Myer Creative Fellowship, Finegan Kruckemeyer is one of Australia's most exciting and celebrated playwrights. Set to the music of Daryl Wallis and featuring the talents of Emily Ayoub, Branden Christine, Michael Cutrupi, Anthony Weir and Kate Worsley, The Violent Outburst That Drew Me To You is a twisted, foot-stamping, magical and musical tale full of illusion and surprise for angry young people...and door-slammers past and present.
