The Tallis Scholars are leading exponents of Renaissance sacred music around the world. They will embark on their most extended national tour of Australia in decades this October and November.

Due to demand by Sydney audiences for their November visit, a 4 pm matinee has been scheduled to precede their 7.30pm performance on Saturday November 5. Matinee prices are the same as the evening performance.

With a different program scheduled for the matinee, audiences have the opportunity to hear many works that have become signature pieces for The Tallis Scholars: traditional Renaissance Polyphony (Tallis, Byrd, Allegri) and a smattering of later pieces that provide interest and variety. The most celebrated is Allegri's Miserere, whose score was a closely guarded secret for 150 years, and used exclusively in the Sistine Chapel.

A Tallis Marathon package has also been announced, offering a combined discount to both performances, which will appeal to Tallis Scholars' enthusiasts. Anyone who has already purchased the evening performance only needs to call the box office to get their discount on the second performance.
