Sydney Opera House Presents The Strut & Fret Production Of BLANC DE BLANC ENCORE Image

Following a sensational summer season in 2016, the international masterminds behind Blanc de Blanc, Cantina and the Helpmann Award-nominated Limbo Unhinged will bring their brand-new, high-end cabaret spectacle Blanc de Blanc Encore to the Sydney Opera House Studio from January 4, 2019.

A dynamic burlesque circus-cabaret fusion, the highly anticipated Sydney premiere of Blanc de Blanc Encore is a refined blend of vintage French glamour, risqué humour, sensational aerials, comedy, big dance numbers and acrobatics, and will transform the Studio over summer with opulent, cheeky, edge-of-your-seat theatre. The production features new cast highlights including:

  • Fernando Miro (Puerto Rico), the acrobat, aerialist, dancer and contortionist fresh from Katy Perry's Witness tour, performing with Taylor Swift and Cirque du Soleil productions;
  • Aerialist, contortionist and dancer Caitlin Tomson-Moylan (USA); and
  • Spencer Craig (USA), the astounding aerial hoop and circus artist.

Since 2012, the Opera House has presented successive summers of thrilling circus-cabaret, with over 200,000 fans leaving their inhibitions at the door to enjoy shows such as La Soiree, Club Swizzle, Limbo Unhinged and Blanc de Blanc to name a few.

Scott Maidment, Founding Director of boundary-breaking circus elite, Strut & Fret, says: "After touring the world with Blanc de Blanc and a triumphant Opera House season of Limbo Unhinged last year, I'm excited to re-invigorate the world of Blanc de Blanc and bring it back to the place where it all began. Blanc de Blanc Encore is shaping up to be even bigger, better and crazier than the original."

Dress Code: Patrons are invited to immersive themselves in the party atmosphere at Blanc de Blanc Encore. The suggested dress code is: vintage white with a dash of sparkle...

This performance is recommended for ages 18+.

Contemporary Performance at the Opera House champions modern storytellers, pop-culture visionaries and work that is bold, entertaining and genre-defying. The program presents the best Australian and international productions spanning theatre, contemporary dance, circus, magic, comedy, musicals and cabaret. It has featured Hannah Gadsby's comedy phenomenon Nanette, the Australian premiere screening of cult Netflix series Stranger Things 2, John Cameron Mitchell's The Origin of Love, award-winning musical Assassins, boundary-breaking Hot Brown Honey, Ballet Preljocaj's contemporary retelling of Snow White and Jakop Ahlbom's chilling production of Horror. Up next is a dazzling dance display from The Tap Pack.
