STALKER: THE MUSICAL to Receive Australian Premiere ImageSTALKER: THE MUSICAL is a dark, satirical musical, set in a dystopian world where love is taboo, and men and women are free to leer and lust to their heart's content.

STALKER: THE MUSICAL will premiere at THE DEPOT THEATRE, Marrickville from 19 September to 6 October starring Melody Beck, Levi Burrows, Dave Collins, Steph Edmonds, Michele Lansdown, Peter Meredith, Haji Myrteza, Harrison Riley and Emma Taviani. STALKER will be Directed by Nich Radcliffe with Andy Peterson as Musical Director and Zoe Ioannou as Choreographer.

This new Australian musical has been in the writing process for four years, a collaboration between Sydney writer and musician David Russell, Sydney writer and performer Alex Giles and New York based Composer and Musical Director Andy Peterson. It has been presented at the New York fringe festival, the Chicago Music Theatre festival and a workshop production at the Hayes Theatre.

Set in a dystopian town, where the concept of 'love' is outlawed. Citizens may not even touch one another, for fear of arrest - or worse. Spurred on by the arrival of a mysterious stranger, who introduces the concept of love to the people, Stalker follows the journey of several characters who, against all odds - cross boundaries, discover love, and fall in (and out) of it.

In a time where human 'connection' is often boiled down to swiping left or right, Stalker takes a look at what real connection between people involves - the pitfalls and the promises. The title refers to the age of voyeurism, but the show encourages everyone to look closer at what it means to love another person, to find a connection and to hold onto the things that really matter in life.
