On Sunday 11th February at Riverside Theatres, David Simes will perform the captivating cabaret, It's De-Lovely, featuring the much-loved music of Cole Porter, Michael Bublè, Bobby Darin and the latest hits from Broadway.
Joining Simes on the piano will be one of Australia's leading musical directors, Andrew Worboys, who is renowned for his work on recent smash-hit musical theatre productions such as Little Shop of Horrors, High Fidelity, Assassins and Sweet Charity.
Inspired by the great jazz and swing performers, It's De-Lovely will feature songs from well-known musical theatre productions such as Anything Goes, Newsies and Godspell; as well as hits from the latest Tony-winning Best Musical, Dear Evan Hansen.
Simes is most well-known as one of the stars of ABC Kids program, Giggle and Hoot, and recently received rave reviews for his role in the theatre production, Flood, as well as a nomination for Best Newcomer in the Glugs Theatre Awards. Simes also recently toured for a year with educational theatre company, Brainstorm Productions, and featured in the Frank Valli tribute show, The Vallies.
The show is directed by Les Solomon who is known for working with cabaret stars both locally and internationally including David Campbell, Tim Draxl and Hayden Tee.
