Packemin Productions Brings SHREK the Musical to Riverside Theatres

Everyone's favourite ogre is back in the hilarious stage spectacle based on the Oscar-winning, smash hit film.

Starring JAY LAGA'AIA (Play School, Star Wars, The Lion King) as Shrek, Luke Joslin (Les Miserables, Avenue Q, The Play That Goes Wrong) as Lord Farquaad, Mikayla Williams (Hairspray, Wicked) as Princess Fiona and NAT JOBE (The Lion King and The King and I) as Donkey, this show is one for the whole family!

Based on the Oscar-winning Dreamworks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure, featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie; Caroline, or Change) and a side-splitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there's more to the story than meets the ears.

"Once Upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek...." And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero.

Luckily, there's one on hand... and his name is Shrek!

Packemin Productions prides itself on bringing some of musical theatre's most popular shows to Parramatta and doing them in grand style. Their sell-out seasons of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Oliver!, The Wizard of Oz, Hairspray, Annie, Beauty and the Beast, The Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, Mary Poppins, Wicked and, most recently Miss Saigon have wowed audiences with casts of over 200 performers, huge sets and highly skilled creative and technical teams.
