Pacific Opera presents A Mothers' Day Concert in SYDNEY! Featuring Maestro Simon Kenway (Artistic Director of Pacific Opera) and the 2017 Young Artists, this concert includes a complimentary afternoon tea before the concert in the beautiful surrounds of the historic Independent Theatre in North Sydney.

Mothers' Day - Sunday 14 May 2:30pm for Afternoon Tea 3:30pm for ConcertIndependent Theatre, North Sydney.


This concert will be directed by Christine Douglas.

ARTISTS:
Pacific Opera's 2017 Young Artists featuring in this concert include:
Livia Brash (soprano, 26, Glebe) current semifinalist in the IFAC Handa Australian Singing Competition, recent graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium Opera School, and made her City Recital Hall debut last Friday singing in the Greek Festival of 2017 under the baton of Maestro George Ellis.
Claire Chehade-James (soprano, 31, Botany) recently featured on an episode of Married at First Sight singing an opera duet with Lorenzo Rositano during one of the dates in the episode.
Christopher Curcuruto (bass-baritone, 31, Leichhardt) just finished a month with Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour performing Carmen with Opera Australia Chorus.
Barbara Jin (mezzo-soprano, 25, Kirribilli) recently performed the title role of La Cenerentola on a week's notice (!!!) for Lyric Opera Studio, Weimar (Germany).
Daniela Leska (soprano, 27, Matraville) recently appeared in 'An Afternoon at the Proms' with international violinist Ian Cooper, the Hawkesbury Nepean Valley Pipe Band, the CMNC Choir and the Blue Danube Orchestra in a cast of over 50, presented by Australian Global Entertainment.
Bree Meara-Hendy (mezzo-soprano, 26, Brisbane) just finished a month with Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour performing Carmen with Opera Australia Chorus.
Ryan O'Donnell (tenor, 26, North Ryde) just performed the tenor solo with Willoughby Symphony Choir in their performance of Britten's St Nicolas.
Laura Scandizzo (soprano, 36, North Strathfield) just finished a month with Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour performing Carmen with Opera Australia Chorus, and is soon off to Bulgaria in June to perform in Don Giovanni with Varna International Opera Academy.

Caleb Son (tenor, 34, Castle Hill) performed with Opera Australia Chorus in their 2016 production of La Boheme.
Emily Turner (soprano, 26, Brisbane) performed with Opera Queensland Chorus in their 2016 production of Madama Butterfly, and performed Harry in Albert Herring with Queensland Conservatorium in the same year.
As well as performances from two Associate Young Artists:
Katherine Allen (soprano, 19, Annandale) is a current BMus candidate at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Michael Handy (tenor, 31, Ashfield) recently starred as Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus with Operantics at the Independent Theatre.
And performances from two guest artists:
Pamela Andrews (soprano, 32, Rockdale) an alumna of PO's 2013 Young Artist Program and performed with Opera Australia Chorus in their 2016 production of La Boheme.
Shoumendu Schornikow (baritone, 27, Melbourne) currently employed with Opera Australia in their touring schools production of El Kid.
