PACT Centre for Emerging Artists will present an inspired new showcase of performance, theatre and art in PACT Salon: Desire Lines on Saturday 24th February.
Taking inspiration from the uncertain nature of performance itself, the first PACT Salon event for 2018 will be presented by Desire Lines, an art series established by emerging curators and artists Sebastian Henry-Jones and Maeve Parker.
Adopting the format of a walking tour, PACT Salon: Desire Lines will take audiences on a guided journey between performances, installations and sonic experiences, each designed to interrogate ideas of authenticity, memory and spectatorship.
This curated collection of diverse acts aims to playfully challenge the audience's experience of each work by blurring the lines between performance, art and space.
"We want to unsettle the conventional experience of performance by playing with its boundaries,' said Maeve. 'The artists we've curated will have the space they require to explore these edges, whilst audiences will hopefully walk away with a new notion of what a performance can be."
PACT Salons are one-night-only mini festivals showcasing eclectic new works by some of Sydney's most compelling emerging performance, visual and media artists. Salons are where performance, party and critical dialogue collide to form a unique interactive experience.
