New Theatre and the Sydney Fringe Festival Present Queer Fringe @ The New Image

In 2016, New Theatre was the recipient of the ACON Honour Award for Arts & Entertainment, in recognition of our 25-year commitment and support of the LGBTQI community, and for acknowledging diverse sexualities and genders as an important demographic within the theatre's community and audience.

In 2017, we expanded and reinforced that commitment with our Queer Fringe @ The New initiative, facilitating two weeks of LGBTQI-focused theatre as part of the Sydney Fringe Festival.

In 2018, we continue that project, presenting five 'queer' stories over two weeks in September, as part of the Sydney Fringe Festival 2018.

We'll be producing two plays 'in-house' (The Elements of an Offence and Next Lesson), and hosting three independent productions (A Streetcar Named Hot Tim Menagerie, Premium Semen, and Uz: The Town).

It's a program ranging across comedy, drama, satire, impro and music theatre, including an Australian premiere, and the World premiere of a new Australian works.
