Middle-aged Mum Makes Sydney Fringe Comedy debut

She may be too old to be described as "fresh" or "new blood", but up-and-coming 44-year-old Canberra comedian Chris Ryan is topping off a huge year of comedy with her first solo show at the Sydney Fringe Festival Comedy, Grey Matter.

Chris Ryan's laconic take on everything from romance to passive aggressive co-workers has got her spots on the Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase Tour (2018), Canberra Comedy Festival Galas the Sydney Comedy Store and Enmore Comedy Club, Floriade Nightfest, TEDxCanberra and the Fearless Comedy Gala fundraiser.

"I always thought Fringe festivals were too weird for me because I don't have the energy or intellect to be challenged by complex art forms, but if there's anyone who just want to have a few laughs at how ludicrous it is to be an adult in this day and age, this show is for them," Chris said of her show Grey Matter, which debuted to great feedback at the Canberra Comedy Festival this year.

Tickets: $10 Thursday, $15 Saturday via www.fringecomedy.com.au
