Who would believe you can spin straw into gold? A greedy King certainly does, after a miller tells a little white lie about his daughter, Ruby's extraordinary talent. Up until then Ruby, was only just making ends meet running the mill with her friend Cheezwit the Mouse. Suddenly she is expected to perform miracles.
And she does. Three times Ruby is shown into a room filled with straw and three times the King finds the room full of gold the next morning. How does she do it? In Wendy Blaxland's delightful adaptation this classic tale is filled with lots of fascinating characters who are vain, greedy, mysterious and wise.
