Hayes Theatre Co Cabaret Season Continues Next Week with John O'Hara and More

Week two of the Hayes Theatre Co Cabaret Season continues next week with some of Australia's most distinguished musical theatre and cabaret personalities. John O'Hara begins starts the week off with his performance Dedications, which explores relationships and connections through the familiar music of stars like Celine, Lionel and Whitney.

While reinventing the Motown sound, Little Diana and the Big Fuzz follows the story of a young woman and her rise to fame. Damien Leith makes his Hayes Theatre Co debut performing his humorous and emotional take on classic Irish songs in The Parting Glass - An Irish Journey. Masterfully accompanying himself on piano.

Acclaimed music theatre performer Luigi Lucente reimagines the explosive 1960's hits by The Doors in Jim Morrison: Kaleidoscope. Come to the Cabaret will let you join Australia's leading cabaret performers, writers and festival and venue programmers as they chew the (very lean) fat about cabaret. The week finishes with Marney McQueen reprising her role in Hair to the Throne a comedy cabaret expose which will treat audiences to a hilarious, unmissable full body experience.

The Hayes Theatre Co Cabaret Season features 17 cabaret acts over June. Week One is currently underway with highlights including the wonderful Marina Prior.

DEDICATIONS is a show about people, relationships, the day to day of domestic life and getting through. It's also about choices and memory, but most of all it's about connection - how we do it and why.

Starring John O'Hara, the audience experiences pain and hope through various characters as they call in to request a song and share their stories of heartache and tales of triumph from a nation in and out of love. And as the familiar strains of Celine or Lionel or Whitney transport us back in time we know that the Love God is here to help.

Little Diana, starring Bree Langridge follows the story of a young woman. The light and dark that she experiences through her rise to fame and what propels her to perform. Damien Leith will perform his one-man show, The Parting Glass - An Irish Journey, filled with humour, emotion and great Irish music.

The show which incorporates both a play and a musical concert of classic Irish songs is set in an Irish pub and see's Damien take on the character roles of both a father and a son who are catching up on lost time over a few drinks. It's both humorous and emotional and audiences will be transported to Ireland.

Treat yourself to an unmissable full body experience as celebrity bikini waxer Rosa Waxoffski and her assistant Boris Longschlongadonski (Mark Jones) takes you on a prickly journey from her childhood, spills the dirt from her star-studded appointment book and showcases her hilarious campaign to represent Australia in Eurovision 2015.

Hayes Theatre Co is a dedicated music theatre and cabaret venue in Potts Point which was formerly the home of the Darlinghurst Theatre Company. Named for Australian musical theatre legend, Nancye Hayes OAM, Hayes Theatre Co honours and builds on the vast history of Australian Musical Theatre and its practitioners. This not-for-profit venue is managed by Independent Music Theatre, a collaborative partnership focusing on providing a permanent home for small-scale musical theatre and cabaret. By providing venue space to newly mounted productions, Hayes Theatre Co, will be a presenting partner together with independent producers and artists.
