Husband and wife duo Gil Shaham and Adele Anthony to make Sydney debut together with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra
Internationally-renowned as one of the most brilliant couples in classical music, New York-based husband and wife duo Gil Shaham and Adele Anthony will make their unmissable Sydney Opera House debut together this July with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
The superstar duo, who met while studying together at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York, will bring their flawless technique and exciting musicianship to Sydney to perform a virtuosic all-Bach program with the Orchestra. Shaham will also be performing Barber's much loved violin with the SSO this month, marking his first Sydney Opera House appearance in over a decade.
Australian-born Adele Anthony, who won the prestigious ABC Young Performers Award when she was aged only 13, and American-Israeli Gil Shaham both describe Australia as one of their favourite places in the world: "We love to see our family and friends here and just really enjoy the company of Australians in general," Shaham said. "This country has such a special culture and vitality that we both really love and we are always so sad to leave!"
