EVERY BRILLIANT THING Announced At Riverside Theatres Image

Since premiering in 2013, Every Brilliant Thing has been performed all over the world garnering rave reviews and numerous awards. Riverside Theatres proudly welcomes this internationally-beloved play, with acclaimed actor Steve Rodgers as the show's sole performer, from 3rd to 6th April.

Every Brilliant Thing is a unique, clever and delightfully funny play about the lengths we go to for those we love a universal, human story delivered with heart. Produced by a multitude of theatre companies across the globe, Every Brilliant Thing has proven again and again that this is a theatre experience like no other.

A seven-year-old arrives home from school to learn that Mum is in the hospital and dad says, 'she's done something stupid'. The child begins to create a list for Mum. A list of everything that's brilliant about the world and everything worth living for including ice cream, water fights and staying up past bedtime to watch TV.

Thousands of entries and 20 years later, what began as a na ve attempt to make Mum happy becomes an epic chronicle of life's little wonders. A tribute to the irrepressible resilience inside all of us and the capacity to find delight in the everyday.

Steve Rodgers says, "Every Brilliant Thing is storytelling at its purest, a brilliant exploration and much needed discussion about mental health and suicide we're all connected to. But ultimately it's the most beautiful celebration of life, love, family and community. I can't wait to tell it in Parramatta, the thriving heart of Sydney, one of the most diverse and brilliant communities about.
