Join one of Australia's leading musical theatre conductors, Kellie Dickerson, for this special Discover workshop, presented in the lead up to Sydney Philharmonia Choir's upcoming concert performances of Candide.
This two hour session, held in the beautiful surrounds of the Northern Foyer of the Sydney Opera House, provides a unique opportunity to learn about Bernstein, the man and his music, as well as to delve into the political landscape of the time and find out what inspired him to write his famous works.
Following the workshop proper, participants will enjoy an exclusive opportunity to get up close and personal with the cast of Candide, as they come together with the choir and the orchestra for their first full rehearsal.
Join Caroline O'Connor, Alexander Lewis, Phillip Scott, Annie Aitken, Kanen Breen, the young singers of the Pacific Orchestra, 400+ choristers and the Sydney Youth Orchestra in the Concert Hall for a sneak peek for what is sure to be Australia's Bernstein event of the year, directed by Mitchell Butel and conducted by Brett Weymark.

Discover Leader: Kellie Dickerson
Kellie Dickerson is one of Australia's premiere conductors and répétiteurs who has worked on productions such as The Merry Widow, Turandot, Phantom of the Opera and Wicked and is the current Music Director of The Book of Mormon. Kellie is a recipient of the Donald Peart Memorial Award for Music; the Brian Stacey Memorial Trust Scholarship for Young Conductors; Three Green Room Awards for Musical Direction of Wicked, Once and City of Angels.
