Renowned indigenous, gay soprano Deborah Cheetham AO is sharing her unique story of the journey to discover her belonging in a special Sydney premiere performance at Glen Street Theatre in Sydney on Saturday 31 October.
Entitled Til The Black Lady Sings, it's an intimate and personal experience for audiences and with music by Catalani, Cilea, Dvorak, Puccini, Richard Strauss, Vaughan Williams and herself, Deborah promises that "you will laugh, you will cry and you will understand".
Deborah is a member of the Stolen Generation, a professor of voice at VCA and she performed at the Sydney Olympics Opening Ceremony.
Deborah will be accompanied on the piano by her partner Toni Lalich.
