Birdie Productions are ecstatic to be working alongside writer Jonathon Holmes on the return season of his OUTRAGEOUS new Australian musical Three in the Bed. The musicals return season will be from the 11th- 26th January 2018 at the New Theatre in Newtown.
After a sell-out season and raving reviews in September 2017 at the King Street Theatre, Three in the Bed is exactly what Aussie theatre needs right now. It's fresh, vibrant and absolutely outrageous and Birdie Productions is ecstatic to be working with Jonathon Holmes to re-launch this hilarious story and bring it back to its Sydney audiences for another romp!!!
Jessica has always had a crush on Tim, who turns up to her party suddenly single. Unfortunately, Tim meets Zoe. But Zoe thinks she has a way to make all parties happy... what could possibly go wrong?
Written by Jonathon Holmes and musically directed by Natalya Aynsley, Three in the Bed has a small but stellar cast including Aaron Robuck (Bare), Daniella Mirels (The Original Grease), Alicia Rose Quinn (Risque Revue), Adin Milostnik (Vast Hill) and Caroline Oayda (The Original Grease).
As Laura Murphy joins the cast of Sydney Theatre Company's Muriel's Wedding, Caroline Oayda (The Original Grease) will be filling the leopard-print bra in the role of Emma.
Jonathon's soundtrack for this incredible new work will be released on iTunes in time for opening night!
Jonathon Holmes is a songwriter, actor or pianist (whichever way the wind blows), from Sydney, Australia. His new musical comedy farce Three In The Bed premiered at King Street Theatre this year to sellout shows, reviewers hailing it "terrific fun: cheeky, sexy, laugh out loud... full of heart" and "a success". Jonathon also released his new single Pretentious this year; and his debut EP Plutonese of quirky piano-pop produced by Matt Fell was released in 2014. You might recognise him as the guy with emojis on his face in his 2016 jazz beat-poem Get Your Hands (Off Your F***ing Phone). His theatre roles include Berger in Hair; Hewson/Downer in Keating!; and director of The Fantasticks. He is the pianist of Mickey's Jazz Club, re-interpreting Disney songs (because he's still five in his head).
Birdie Productions are a Pro-Am theatre company that made its debut into the theatrical scene in 2015 with the toe tapping, Hot Shoe Shuffle starring Daryl Somers. Since their debut, they have produced Keating!, 13: A New Musical, Seussical which starred Sam Moran (The Wiggles) and most recently FAME starring Kat Hoyos (Here Come the Habibs) and Lyndall Wennekes (The Voice).
Birdie Productions will also present Disney's The Little Mermaid in 2018. Birdie Productions is proud to be supporting Jonathons new Australian work and cannot wait to be a part of bringing Three in the Bed back!
