Creative Planet - a rare and exciting opportunity for children to creatively explore the fundamentals of parkour, gymnastics and acrobatics - will be launched today by the Barangaroo Delivery Authority.

The Cutaway at Barangaroo Reserve has been transformed into a pop-up jungle gym to host these Australian-first workshops. World-renowned physical theatre company Legs On The Wallwill provide kids of all ages with expert instruction as they leap, climb and explore in a safe and supportive environment.

Children and teenagers will be encouraged to work together and use their imaginations for movement-based activities guided by some of Australia's best acrobats and parkour artists.

Legs On The Wall's Senior Creative Producer, Cecily Hardy, said Creative Planet will inspire children of all ages to engage their imaginations and their bodies at the same time.

"These workshops will bring kids with different strengths and capabilities into the same team to build their world together. No acrobatic skill is required and we have a strong focus on inclusivity and safety," Ms Hardy said.

"It is an energetic environment where kids can make friends, push themselves physically, stretch their minds, and have bags of fun - without even realising they are doing it."

From the moment they arrive, participants will be immersed in an alternate world as Legs On The Wall facilitators deliver a dynamic and energetic performance. This will be followed by a 1.5 hour workshop where participants use their creativity to turn objects into an obstacle course.

Using crash mats, large cylinders, ropes and climbing frames, children will transform the space into a futuristic landscape inspired by their imagination in which they can explore and play.

Legs On The Wall was started by a group of young artists busking on the streets of Sydney. Thirty four years later, they are now internationally renowned for having performed at ceremonies and festivals all over the world, including the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games.

Legs On The Wall have partnered with the Barangaroo Delivery Authority to present this innovative new workshop program at Barangaroo: Australia's next cultural precinct and Sydney's newest creative stage for leading-edge public art and programming.

Creative Planet workshops will take place exclusively at Barangaroo Reserve in Sydney for six days only.

Tickets are $22 per child and parents can either watch for free, or drop their kids and explore Barangaroo Reserve or the waterfront restaurants, cafes and shops. Tickets are selling fast.
