BIGSOUND Festival have dropped the mic today on an undeniable second announcement, filling an epic four-night adventure of sound and setting yet another benchmark for new live music discovery in Australia. Proving that Australia's underground is a wide, diverse pool of talent and innovation, this year's line-up is a cross-genre triumph for anyone wanting to get excited about all that's great about tomorrow's music scene.

Where to start? How about satisfying your guitar fetish with sleepmakeswaves, West Thebarton, WAAX and The Beautiful Monument? Perhaps some electronic vibes with Confidence Man, Cub Sport, Golden Vessel or SUPERCRUEL? Or maybe the new generation of hip hop spearheaded by Manu Crook$, Thandi Phoenix or Midas.Gold? How about some of the strongest Australian female songwriters in Tia Gostelow, Caiti Baker and Washington? Whatever your taste, BIGSOUND Festival 2017 has a four-night path for you to plot through the country's best new acts with each artist playing twice to ensure you don't miss a thing.

These join previously announced artists including Alex the Astronaut, Baker Boy, Hatchie, Mansionair, The Creases, Winston Surfshirt, Kardajala Kirridarra and more, making up the epic 133+ artist event.

"The quality of new and Australian music is currently exemplified by how hard it was to choose these artists out of approximately 1070 applications," said BIGSOUND Festival programmer Maggie Collins. "Every single artist on this lineup has something unique to showcase and to achieve. I'm frothing over these acts and can't wait to show them off."

All artists on this year's BIGSOUND Festival are eligible for a share of this year's $100,000 Levi's Music Prize and join the now prestigious list of BIGSOUND alumni who have used the event to launch international careers including: Flume, Courtney Barnett, RUFUS, Tash Sultana, The Jezabels, Middle Kids, Seth Sentry, Gang of Youths, DMAs, Kingswood, The Temper Trap, DZ Deathrays, Ball Park Music, San Cisco, Boy & Bear, A.B. Original, Methyl Ethel and many more.

This year's BIGSOUND Festival venue list has also been announced today, with this year's event expanding to a huge eighteen venues crossing the spectrum of experiences Brisbane's Fortitude Valley has to offer from big, small, inside, outside and everything in between-and all within three easily-walked blocks. Double J are also making their BIGSOUND Festival debut, curating an intimate night of music at Black Bear Lodge on the Thursday, featuring some incredible talent heard on their first three amazing years on air. The lineup will be unveiled with the full BIGSOUND Festival program in August.

As well as just the music, the BIGSOUND Festival experience is going to the next level this year, as 10 visual artists take over Fortitude Valley to show the world what they've got. Immerse yourself in lighting, projection, installation and illustration works as you make your way between BIGSOUND's 18 festival venues.
