The Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) have announced that they will embark on a two-week tour of North America in April 2019, where they will give eight concerts over 15 days in major cities including New York, Boston, and Stanford.

The Orchestra will be joined by internationally renowned pianists Paul Lewis and Inon Barnatan in concert halls including New York's Lincoln Centre, Stanford's Bing Concert Hall, and Princeton University's Richardson Auditorium.

According to ACO Managing Director Richard Evans, North America is one of the ACO's primary international touring destinations.

"As Australia's national and international touring orchestra, the ACO has a long history of touring to North America," said Evans. "This upcoming tour will mark the Orchestra's nineteenth tour to the US and we are very much looking forward to returning to the great musical centre of New York, as well as cities including Boston, Stanford, and Princeton."

In addition to performing these concerts, ACO Artistic Director Richard Tognetti and ACO musicians will give private performances and workshops for students at Folsom Lake College and Virginia Tech.

The ACO's US tour will mark the first of two international tours in the Orchestra's 2019 Season. In October 2019 the ACO will return to the UK for their second season in-residence as International Associate Ensemble at Milton Court at London's Barbican Centre.

The ACO last toured to the US in July 2016.
