2013 LIGHT THE NIGHT Performers Announced- Including Lucy Maunder, Marika Aubrey, and Vanessa Raspa

Tickets are on sale for 'LIGHT THE NIGHT 2013', a musical theatre extravaganza featuring some of Australia's most popular musical theatre performers including GREASE star Lucy Maunder and the sensational Trevor Ashley. Raising much needed funds for the Arrow Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation, the popular event will be held at City Recital Hall on Monday October 28th at 7.30pm. Hosting the 2013 concert will be LIGHT THE NIGHT Ambassador and International musical therapist, Jan van de Stool - alter ego of award winning, musical theatre royalty Queenie van der Zandt.

Each year, talented Australian artists donate their time to help raise money for this much needed cause. This year's line-up includes GREASE's femme fatale Lucy Maunder, drag artiste Trevor Ashley, Red Hot Mama Marika Aubrey, talented songstress Vanessa Raspa, I Will Survive contestant Tom Sharah and musical theatre favourites Tyran Parke and Johanna Allen. More performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

Van de Stool is delighted to be hosting this year's inspiring event. "From my humble beginnings of drawing the LTN raffle, to co-hosting the concert with other people, whose names I've forgotten now, I have had a long association with LIGHT THE NIGHT which is why I am the official ambassador of LTN. It is a win/win because I look more charitable and they look more multicultural".

"There will be some of Australia's most revered musical theatre artists performing on the night and of course I'll be there giving expert insights and criticisms to the audience for free. So... that's nice."

LIGHT THE NIGHT is inspired by Matthew Rennie, a brave young man who fought a three year battle against leukaemia. Unfortunately, Matthew passed away shortly before the 2007 concert. LIGHT THE NIGHT was created by Matthew's two brothers, musical theatre performers Shaun Rennie and Adam Rennie, and friends Monica Smith and Greg Smith.

Funds raised at this event have exceeded $350,000 with all proceeds directed into funding leukaemia research. This year, money raised will fund the LIGHT THE NIGHT Research Grant that supports a promising new Gene Control in Acute Leukaemia project being undertaken by St Vincent's Hospital's Haematology Research Team.
