Today 1,200 performers from all around the world including Australia arrived into Melbourne for The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo that will take place from Friday 12 February at Etihad Stadium. This incredible event promises to be one of the greatest spectacles ever seen in Melbourne.

The Tattoo includes performers from ten regiments in the UK plus bands from Switzerland, Norway, Tonga, Fiji and all across Australia and as far flung as the Shetland Islands.

In its 65-year history, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has only ever left its Scottish homeland three times touring to New Zealand in 2000 and Sydney in 2005 and 2010.

At the heart of the Tattoo is the stirring sight and sound of the Massed Pipes and Drums drawn from Scottish regiments who join massed military bands from the Royal Navy, the Army and the Royal Air Force who will all combine to present a unique blend of music, ceremony, entertainment and theatre, set against the magnificent backdrop of a full size replica of the Edinburgh Castle.
