About the musical:
More than just an exhilarating musical performance, UMOJA presents a musical show that resonates in the well-known history of South Africa’s apartheid era, depicted through the memories and narration of a cunning old musician. 30 dancers, musicians, comedians and in unbelievably 300 different costumes, one live orchestra and four international awards, UMOJA will charm you with its inexhaustible energy, having already triumphed in more than 25 countries. As you allow yourself to be carried away by its Zulu drums, be enticed by the bewitchingly beautiful rhythms and the warmth of the black miners’ dance - the gumboot which tells its own story. Vibrate under the magic and the emotion of the acapella gospel. Discover also the fever of the new musical trends and dances - kwaito and pantsula of the young people of South Africa’s shantytowns. UMOJA, more irresistible than ever, returns to Geneva on January 21, 2012.
