The National Ballet Opera of Kiev presents: GISELLE
‘Giselle’, represents the height of romantic ballet dancing. Created in 1841, its success was immediate. Giselle takes on the two main romantic themes of color and rustic love which ends up in tragedy, a rude awakening into the fantasy world and redemption received by the strength of love. Giselle, has been considered as one of the most difficult in the entire repertoire, quite demanding in its interpretation, requiring irreproachable technical expertise, with a certain quality in dramatic expressions that fluctuates fluidly from expressing the joy of live (joie de vivre), to depression, folly and passion.
As for the National Opera Ballet of Kiev, which has surmounted in mastery by completing its challenging repertoire of ballet, in the both the classical and contemporary genres including interpretations of; Spartacus, Don Quichotte, Romeo and Julliet, The Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and Giselle which will be the main highlight for the start of their 2012 International Tour.
