In spite of a busy schedule of engagements in the greatest opera houses of the world, Diana Damrau still finds time to perform for the Geneva public that gave her such a warm welcome for her voice and harp recital three years ago with Xavier de Maistre. This season, the German soprano returns once again to the stage where she performed Donna Anna, Elvira and Philine, in the company of the internationally acclaimed French harpist, for a new recital programme that all the best concert and opera houses are scrambling to include on their playbills, with its sure promise to sell out. The Damrau - de Maistre duet has been charming music lovers for several years now with the originality of its musical association and the graceful allure of the prima donna’s voice. This season, these two exceptional artists will be present with a new programme: an evening dedicated principally to the art songs of Richard Strauss.
