Mats Ek recognizes Romeo and Juliet! It will be världskoreografens first major full-evening works since sleeping beauty for the Hamburg Ballet in 1997. Shakespeare's tragedy of the young lovers, the couple created for the Royal Ballet to music by Tchaikovsky.

Ballet in two acts-Mats Ek made several nytolkningar of balettklassiker including Swan Lake, Giselle, the sleeping beauty. He has also directed theatre performances, much as Don Juan, the merchant of Venice, a dream play, the ghost Sonata at the Royal dramatic theatre and the award-winning and interdisciplinary version of Gluck's opera Orphée at the Royal Swedish Opera. The Royal Ballet has set up several of his shorter dance performances, most recently Daikon to the Brahms Violin Concerto.
