Otello believes in his friend Jagos word about the beloved wife Desdemona has been unfaithful with Cassio. When Otello realizes he can not stop his own jealousy, he wants to take revenge and decides to kill his wife. When everything is too late he realizes that Desdemona has been faithful to him all the time and that Iago has tricked him and thus gained power over his life. In his bottomless despair takes Otello his life. Verdi's penultimate opera Otello, based on William Shakespeare's play, is a psychological drama about jealousy and man's darkest forces. The set is directed by the famous American director David Alden and the roles of Othello and Desdemona are made ??by the Lithuanian tenor Kristian Benedict and the Swedish soprano Malin Byström.
