Violetta Valéry, a young lyxprostituerad meets love. Alfredo can give her a new life far away from the nightclubs of Paris. But Alfredo's father thinks that Violet shames his son and family, and manipulates her to leave Alfredo. Violetta returns to his former life, but neither Alfredo and his father know that she is terminally ill. La traviata is the tragedy of a woman's struggle against social prejudices, a subject of deep personal significance for Giuseppe Verdi. The piece is based on the novel The Lady of the Camellias by Alexandre Dumas the Younger In this set of Kasper Holten unfolds the action on the 2000s luxurious strip clubs and shopping streets.
