The fryntlige Falstaff enjoying the good things in life - food, drink, music and beautiful women. But the good life is expensive and Falstaff's wallet thin. To solve the problem have Money Falstaff a nerve plane. With her voluminous charm he will seduce two wealthy wives who could help fund his excesses. But the wives are not easily fooled. The self-righteous Falstaff is self-defeating and lured into traps that will make him the laughing stock of the whole town. Revenge is sweet and the one who laughs best laughs last!

Falstaff Giuseppe Verdi's last opera, an exuberant comic masterpiece about a joyful knight. The work is based on Shakespeare's Merry Wives of Windsor and is a humorous celebration of love and life. Set, directed by Ann-Margret Pettersson, premiered at the Royal Opera in 2009 with a colorful set design of the high esteem the artist Lennart Jirlow.
