Peter Jöback is Jean Valjean 13th of February to 9th of March.
Peter Jöback stars as Jean Valjean in the classic musical LES MISÉRABLES at London's most prestigious musical stage, The Sondheim Theatre. This will be another major international role for Peter, who previously enchanted audiences both in London and New York.
Peter Jöback is a given part of Swedish cultural life and also a well-known face on the international musical scene. Now he takes on the lead role in one of the world's best-loved musicals when he steps in as a guest performer in Les Misérables in London's West End for four weeks starting 13 February 2024.
"I am delighted and proud to take on another of the most iconic roles – as Valjean in this classic work and also on a stage in London again. It is one of the most well-written musicals and the music is fantastic," says Peter Jöback.
Peter's star status in the West End and on Broadway since his debut in "Miss Saigon" has been consolidated above all with his magnificent and celebrated interpretation as "The Phantom of the Opera", an interpretation that made a big impression on both sides of the Atlantic; In 2018 he was handpicked by Harold Prince, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh to wear the mask as this classic turned 30 at The Majestic Theater on Broadway.
Already this week, Peter began his acquaintance with Jean Valjean when he performed together with three Valjean colleagues in "Big Night of Musicals". Their version of the classic 'Bring Him Home' received a standing ovation from the 12,000+ crowd at Manchester Arena and the TV show will be broadcast on BBC1 on Saturday 27th January.
