& JULIET Opens at Cirkus Sweden February 2026

The musical & Julia is a modern, inclusive and brilliant romantic comedy in which Julia chooses her own destiny in a new interpretation of the world's most iconic love story. Surely there is life after Romeo! Let yourself be swept along on a fantastic musical journey as Julia lets her famous fate take a completely new turn and she gets a second chance at life and love. Created by David West Read, the man behind the Emmy-winning TV series "Schitt's Creek", the world's most famous love story is brought to an end and the question is: what if Juliet doesn't end her life because of Romeo?

Shakespeare's new love story is accompanied by a playlist of pop songs as iconic as Juliet herself. Immortal hits such as Britney Spears …Baby One More Time, Katy Perry's Roar and chart toppers such as Since U Been Gone, It's My Life, I Want It That Way and Can't Stop the Feeling! — all created by Max Martin with friends. Martin is the genius and songwriter/producer behind more Billboard #1 hits than any other creator this century. Experience the classic balcony scene that proves there is life after Romeo. The only tragic thing would be to miss it!

In the star-studded cast, we see Viktor Norén shoulder the role of William Shakespeare, who sees his story challenged by his charming wife Anne Hathaway, here played by Linda Olsson.

In the role of Julia, we proudly present Joanné Nugas. Joanné who is a member of The Real Group is a very experienced singer and voice actress. Here in & Julia, Joanné makes her musical debut.

Pop artist Oscar Zia plays the smug but charming Romeo. In the role of Julia's mother Angelic we see Sussie Eriksson and in the role of Lance Du Bois, the musical star Rennie Mirro, both very well known from the theater stages.

The show premieres on February 19, 2026 at 19:30 at Cirkus in Stockholm and is played Thursday-Sunday throughout the spring.
The performance is approx. 2.30 incl. Pause.
The dialogue is in Swedish and the songs are sung in English.
