Fly, originally produced Off-Broadway at the American Place Theatre, won three AUDELCO awards for excellence in Black Theatre. It was also presented at the National Black Theater Festival in North Carolina and at the HBO Performance Space in Los Angeles.
Fly is a compelling one-man dramatic comedy about an African American man eagerly awaiting a unique celestial occurrence that will transmit transformative energy to Earth, giving him the ability to fly. On a Brooklyn rooftop, he prepares for this extraordinary event, sharing the comic, dramatic, and tragic encounters that have pushed him to the brink of reality. Fly powerfully highlights the social justice, spiritual, and political challenges of being Black and conscious in America.
