West End Players Guild will hold auditions for the first three plays of its 2011-2012 season on Saturday, July 23, at 12 noon at the theatre in the Union Avenue Christian Church, 733 Union Boulevard (just north of Delmar).

The three plays to be cast are:
Charles Marowitz's Murdering Marlowe, directed by Robert A. Mitchell. Roles are available for seven men (age range 20s to 50s) and two women (20s-30s). Show dates are November 11-20, 2011; tech week will be November 6-10, 2011.

Conor McPherson's The Seafarer, directed by Steve Callahan. Roles are available for five men, age range 40s-60s. Show dates are January 6-15, 2012; tech week will be January 2-5, 2012.

Stephen Peirick's Wake Up, Cameron Dobbs, directed by Robert Ashton. Roles are available for two men (early 30s) and three women (20s-60s). Show dates are February 24-March 4, 2012; tech week will be February 19-23, 2012.

Auditions for the final play of the 2011-2012 season, Eugene Ionesco's Exit the King, directed by Renee-Sevier Monsey, will be announced at a later date.

West End Players Guild is a non-Equity professional company; all actors will be paid a stipend. No appointment is required for the auditions. Auditioners are asked to bring a resume and a headshot for each director for whom they wish to read. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the scripts; sides will be provided at the audition. Ample free parking is available on the parking lot behind the church; auditioners should use the basement entrance to the theater from the parking lot.

Plot and character synopses for the plays to be cast are available online at www.westendplayers.org/information/auditions. Auditioners may direct any questions for the directors to wepgnews@westendplayers.org.

West End Players Guild is St. Louis's oldest continuously-operating theatre company, providing "big theatre in a small space" since November, 1911, and now presenting its second century of performances.
