Webster University's Conservatory of Theatre Arts presents "Top Girls" by Caryl Churchill.

The production runs from Sept. 28-Oct. 2 and Oct. 5-9, in the Emerson Studio Theatre, 130 Edgar Road. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m., except Sundays, which presents 2 p.m. matinees only.

Admission is $12 for the general public and $6 for senior adults and students. For ticket reservations, call the Fine Arts Hotline at 968-7128.

"Top Girls" is a 1982 play about a woman named Marlene, a successful businesswoman with an unsuccessful personal life, employed at the 'Top Girls' employment agency. Set in Margaret Thatcher's England, "Top Girls" opens in a restaurant where Marlene is hosting a dinner party for five friends to celebrate her recent promotion. The five guests are all prominent women that are either long-dead or are fictional characters from literature or paintings.

The play looks closely at the secrets Marlene harbors and the bitter sacrifices she has made when she fled her poor life to enjoy success.

Guest director Andrea Eurice directs "Top Girls."
