WAYNE LOUI has had tremendous influence on theatre in St. Louis. He was originally located at Iowa's St. Ambrose College but moved to join Marita Woodruff at Webster University. Together, they were responsible for launching Impact Theatre, a summer theatre in the late 1960's - 1970's. As director and professor at Webster, Mr. Loui's students remember him with great love and admiration. He is now retired from the theatre department at St. Louis University where he was theatre director, department chair and professor. His contribution was outstanding to both the classes he taught and the many productions he directed. His classes in mime, acting and directing are particularly noteworthy and earned him high respect from his students for his ability to create theatre in a sensitive and knowledgeable manner. He has mentored many theatre professionals in St. Louis and most recently directed Death of a Salesman at Insight Theatre Company, which won St. Louis Theater Circle Awards for Best Director and Best Production. Other Insight directing credits include: Painting Churches, Grace & Glorie, Proof, and Shipwrecked! An Entertainment.
INSIGHT THEATRE COMPANY is a not-for-profit, Actors' Equity Association theatre. All donations are tax deductible.
