The Tesseract Theatre Company is pleased to announce its second season in the .ZACK Arts Incubator, located in Grand Center at 3224 Locust Street, St. Louis, MO 63103.
The season begins in September with Mer
Edith Dayna Levy's Coupler. Follow the twists and turns in the lives of the occupants of the last car of the Northern line, who are looking for love and struggling to trust. With the help of some pixie dust, and a particularly vocal tube train, they work to connect, listen, and eventually - inevitably - grow up. Tesseract ensemble member Katie Palazzola directs. Performances are September 15-17 and 22-24.
In February, Kate McAlister will direct Cold, a new play by Ben Jolivet. With their young daughter in surgery, Ellie and Jane play the waiting game, with the future of their child and relationship at stake. Jane's faith in an experimental treatment could leave the mall out in the cold. Performances are February 9-11 and 16-18.
March brings Taylor Gruenloh's Purple Heart City, directed by Tesseract's managing director Brittanie Gunn. After a monstrous crime, Daniel must move back in with his mother. As he struggles to move forward in life, and in spite of his mother?s demands, Daniel must decide what kind of relationship he wants with his daughter. Performances are March 16-18 and 23-25.
Tesseract's artistic director, Taylor Gruenloh, will direct Spinning Jenny, a new play by Kevin D. Ferguson, May 25-27 and June 1-3. Jenny has never known life outside of her family's traveling carnival. When she meets Cal she discovers the world outside of the midway and the schemes of Alfie, her father, forcing her to choose either to keep the life that she's known or defy her family for a new way of life.
